• Parts have to pass a rigorous quality approval process before used in assembly.
• Technicians examine the work from the previous step and verify their own work before sending the cartridge to the next station.
• Once assembled, every Lexmark print cartridge must pass visual inspection and a complete performance evaluation including printing a multi
  page sample of text and graphics.
• A random sample of cartridges from each pallet are retested.

It’s risky using non-Lexmark supplies.

• Drum revolutions beyond the recommended life cycle will eventually result in print quality defects.
• Poor toner fusing and toner leaks can lead to accumulation of excess toner in the fuser resulting in premature fuser failures.

Buyer’s Lab, a leading independent test lab, tested 752 cartridges in Lexmark printers, 64 original Lexmark cartridges and 688 non-Lexmark cartridges. BLI concluded that the majority of non-Lexmark cartridges tested failed to deliver acceptable perfomance.

Specifically, of the 688 cartridges tested:

• 56% of expected pages were printed, on average
• 22% experienced out of box failures
• 19% exhibited cartridge reliability failures and/or print quality failures during life
• 20% caused printer fuser damage resulting in premature fuser replacement
